One Good List · last updated October 13, 2026

Your life belongs to you, and so does your information. One Good List helps you keep track of what matters, on your own and with the people you share things with. This page explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. It describes how the app works today.

Information we collect

Your account. Your name and the email address Apple or Google shares when you sign in. With Sign in with Apple this can be a private relay address. There are no passwords.

What you add. Your tasks, events, notes, projects and tags, the spaces you make, the people you invite, and your messages on items.

Connected calendars and lists. If you link a calendar or task list, copies of its events or tasks (titles, dates, times and whether they are done) are stored in the space you linked it to.

Device details. If you allow notifications, a notification token for your phone.

The waitlist. If you join the beta waitlist on onegoodlist.com, we keep your email address and the date, only to invite you to the beta. We do not sell it, and we delete it if you ask.

Things in your private list are visible only to you. Things in a shared space are visible to the people in that space, and to Goodie only if someone adds Goodie to that space.

Voice and AI features

Talking to the app. When you tap the microphone, your recording is sent to OpenAI to turn it into text, and the text is sent to OpenAI again to sort it into tasks, events and notes. We keep the items that come back. We do not keep the recording.

Ask. When you use Ask to change your list in plain words, your request and a list of your items for the next two weeks and your open tasks (their words, days, spaces and project names) go to OpenAI, which works out what to change. Items that came from Google are never included. Ask can add and change things on your own list but never sends, pays, deletes a project or invites anyone. Each change has an Undo. Ask has a monthly limit in the beta.

Goodie. When you hand a task to Goodie (a limited number a month in the beta), we send Anthropic that task, its messages, the names of its space and project, and the names (or emails) of the people in that space. Nothing else from your list is sent. Goodie may search the web to do the task. It writes its reply back on the task; it never sends messages, pays, or signs in anywhere for you.

Training. We use OpenAI and Anthropic through their business services. Under their terms, neither uses what we send to train its models. OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days to watch for abuse (it keeps none for voice transcription). Anthropic deletes requests within 30 days. Either may keep data longer when the law requires it.

AI assistants you connect. You can give an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT your personal connector link (Spaces and settings, AI assistants). That assistant can then read and change your list and the shared spaces you are in, under its own company's terms and your settings there. One Good List only sends it what it asks for, never sends it anything that came from Google, and the link stops working the moment you revoke it.

Connected calendars and reminders

Calendars and Reminders lists on your iPhone are read on your phone. Copies of the ones you link are stored as described above, and changes you make in One Good List are written back to them from your phone.

If you continue with Google or connect a Google account, we keep a Google access token, encrypted, so we can read and update the Google calendars and Google Tasks lists you link, even when the app is closed. We read the names of your calendars and task lists so you can choose; we only read and change the ones you link, and the events and tasks One Good List adds.

Google data and AI. Information we receive from Google is never sent to OpenAI, Anthropic or any other AI provider: Goodie cannot be given an item that came from Google. One Good List's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to show and sync your calendars and tasks, and nobody at One Good List reads it unless you ask us to help with a specific problem.

Location

Your approximate location is used on your phone to switch between day and night colors. It is never sent to us.

Who else handles your information

We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools.

What we never do

No ads. No selling or renting your information. No tracking you across other apps or websites. No sharing your information with anyone except the services listed above, as needed to run the app, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your information stays until you delete it or delete your account. Items you let go of stay on your Let go page until you delete your account. Server logs record requests and errors, not the contents of your list, and are kept by our host for 7 days. There are no separate backup copies of the database today; if we add backups, this page will say how long they are kept.

Security

Everything between the app and our server travels encrypted over HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, Google tokens are encrypted, and only the person who runs One Good List has access to the database.

When this page changes, the date at the top changes. If a change affects how your information is used, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
